Leaking Crack Injection
Cracks in concrete need to be treated only when they are a potential threat to the durability of the reinforcement or are causing unacceptable leaks. Leaks can appear in reinforced concrete through carbonation, causing steel to rust and expand, which inevitably cracks the concrete encasing it. Other reasons might be poorly compacted materials, displacement of water bar within construction joints, ground movement or settlement. Leaking crack injection is an effective method in the creation of a dry environment.
Leaking cracks can be sealed using polyurethane resin-based foams or grouts that are very fast acting on contact with moisture and can halt the flow of water quickly.
Using high pressure and low pressure injection pumps to deliver the materials through high quality injection bore packers, straight to the heart of the problem, GMB are able to provide leaking crack injection services using low viscosity, flexible, hydrophobic water stop foam or single component hydrophilic polyurethane grout.
